Artist: SodTp
Hometown: Tacoma/WA
I am an in the moment music creator. I make what I feel like making depending on how I feel in that moment. Producer/songwriter/musician.

Finish this sentence: “When people hear me, they’re probably going to think of…”
When people hear me they are prolly going to think of something they went through. As an artist I like to connect and be relatable to potential listeners. Lyrically, I try to speak on things that people go through. I am very transparent in my songs which has allowed me to connect with the few people who do care to listen to my music.

What sparked your inspiration for a music career?
Music has always been around me. I have always loved it. My mom has always told me that I could use my gifts to make a living and I truly believe that. I really value what she thinks (probably more than I should lol) but she is definitely a big part as to why I have the guts to choose such a hard and competitive career path.

What crew do you roll with?
As in my friends? I don’t have many. Lol The ones I do have, are basically considered family. They know who they are.

Who are your go to producers?
Well since I am a producer first and foremost, I would say myself in the most humble non-conceited way. Besides that I go to my friends who are also producers. (Wax, Tmak)

What other special talents can you throw down?
Outside of music I don’t think I have that much talent lol. I mean I can cook a mean omelet. Lol

What separates you from the rest?
I’m not quite sure. I don’t really think to be different. I just try to be myself. In a world where what’s “hot” is thrown in your face, and you have to keep a “relevant” sound regarding your music, I’d say originality is hard to come by. I just try to be myself. I say try because it’s easy to listen to someone else’s music and be influenced by it and make a track sounding just like them. I just try to be myself and people seem to feel that the most. There are a lot of people in the world so sometimes being yourself might not sound so original. But I believe if it is truly YOU, then listeners will feel it.

Next moves:
I will be working on a original project. My approach is pretty unique so I’d rather not go into details about it until I have the music ready to go. Besides that I will be touring in November with William Singe, one of my friends from Australia. He just signed with RCA, so you may have heard about him. I will be playing keys for his set.

3 definitive tracks or favorites right now:
I don’t really have favorite songs. It just depends on how I feel that day. I do have songs I put on repeat and get obsessed with. Kendrick and Cole are my favorite rappers so they are in rotation basically every day. But I like old school stuff as well so any given day you might catch me listening to Earth Wind and Fire. Also I have a playlist of just video game music. As a kid I’ve always listened to it in depth. Lol weird but I don’t know, I just always have video game music on my playlists as well. 🙂
