It’s been a long time coming for JUUGHOU$E JAY working on his debut tape that almost doubles as a compilation for the rest of the JUUGHOU$E Records artists. With 2 years of anticipation in the making, we finally have the release of the JUUGHOU$E Tape. Along with its lead single “By Any Means” featuring Nate G dropped in the wintertime, the tape features 9 tracks from the Portland native and his affiliates. Plenty of dope gaza hot boy shit on here including my personal favorite, “DAMNJAY?!”, which has been on repeat nonstop since it’s release.
How did you choose the title of your project?
I chose the title because, it’s a project that includes most of the JUUGHOU$E RECORDS artists.
Can you explain the story behind your artwork and who is the designer?
The artwork is just a portrayal of my life, growin’ up. I was raised in different trap house’s my whole life, most of my family being gang members. Being around guns and drugs, and still learning how to be smart with everything, and every move I make. It just shows a side of me that I can’t hide. Artwork was done by Fendimane.
How long have you been working on this project?
I’ve been working on this mixtape for 2 years with gathering the artists, and putting together the best tracks for it. I consider EVERY JUUGHOU$E artist my family.
Where was it recorded?
I recorded a lot at home in my own set up with my main producer/engineer BryceTMP until he was incarcerated. Some tracks are recorded with Human Studios and a few with SHK THT and one with DJ Chill.
Who are the producers?
A few producers on the tape are BryceTMP, Vander Beats, $UNSHYNE, Yung Pvps and Fonso.
What was your favorite track?
I don’t have a favorite track. I compiled all of my favorite tracks for the tape. I get the same feeling listening to each one.
Who would you like to thank for helping with this project?
I would like to thank every artist in JUUGHOU$E RECORDS. They all inspire me to keep going with my music. I been doin’ this rap shit for about 7 years taking it serious and I found myself ready to quit so many times. Also I want to thank my brother Nigee and my bro R3X Wonder for telling me I actually had the talent to record back in the day. Without them I wouldn’t be doing this shit rn! I LOVE ALL Y’ALL MAN FR.
