We discovered Ken Blvd during our time at this year’s SXSW at an event I ended up hosting last minute. Thinking he was a rapper, we were pretty blown away when the New Orleans artist started singing. Becoming instant fans, we’ve been following him ever since. He recently dropped “By All Means”, which he’s giving us the inside scoop on below!
How did you choose the title of your project?
The title was kind of based on where I am in my life right now, and I feel time is running short to really make my dreams come true so this project was something that needed to happen, by all means.
Can you explain the story behind your artwork and who is the designer?
I’ve always been fascinated with abstract, universal art. I want everything I do to mean something different to each person perceiving the art. I decided to use what I believe is the best picture I’ve taken thus far. The cover was designed by Dominic Scott.
How long have you been working on this project?
I’d say it took about one year to record.
Where was it recorded?
I’ve recorded some of it in the Pink Room, KC’s studio, & I did a track in Raj Smooves studio.
Who was featured?
I only had one feature & that’s Brandon Ares who also produced on some tracks.
What was your favorite track?
My favorite track would be Rollin’ .. it was just more focused on me rather than relating to someone else.
Who would you like to thank for helping with this project?
I can’t really single out anyone specifically but my team had the biggest impact on me when it came to my art so I’d like to thank them, and God of course..
