When I first saw promo clips L.E.X. was dropping to anticipate the release of the visuals to his June single, “Wat U Doin'” I immediately saw a clip of him sitting on top of a car rapping and I thought I was looking at Bart from 3x Krazy. Automatically I was intrigued and reached out to get the link to the whole thing. After watching the video a couple times I fell in love with the song, which has a bouncy modern day “happy trap” sound to it. The undeniable visuals were done by another Lex, Lexscope, and feature crisp color corrections looking almost like something out of the cult classic Natural Born Killers, giving it a valued late 90’s look.
In being curious how L.E.X. felt about the video, it was almost a big stepping stone for him: “This was a dream come true, I shot my first solo video and I conquered my fear with paddling in the water…sort of” L.E.X. said. He also had a tip for those who are feeling unsure about themselves, “Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present. Thats’s one of my favorite Jim Rohn quotes.”
This video isnt the only drop from L.E.X. that’s coming up though, “Next Single drops on Sept. 15th which is my Birthday and A Kewl Relatives EP with my homie Chronic 050 Netherlands out of Groningen. It’s a short and sweet project it’s not a debut project, but that is on the way next year probably around my 25th birthday.”
L.E.X. will be performing at Inscape Arts Mash on August 6th & Death By Stereo 3 August 16th at High Dive.
