Underground Hype: GHOSTEMANE

Interview By: Carrick Wenke

Ever since JGRXXN dropped LilBoxChevyMane recently, I’ve found myself almost primarily listening to Schemaposse as a whole, or it’s individual members solo. One of them who has come to the forefront as debatably my favorite member of Schema, GHOSTEMANE, upon first look doesn’t appear like he would be continuing his own style of the Relativity Records-Era Three 6 Mafia that Schema is known for, more so looking like he would be in some form of Punk or Metal band. In fact he does both, in being most known for his quick paced high pitched eerie Rap style, and also being in Hardcore bands Nemesis, and Seven Serpents. He does it all while wearing a Deicide shirt, (props to anyone who knows about Deicide, as they are legendary).

Who Are You? What Do You Wanna Tell The World About Yourself?

I’m Eric (GHOSTEMANE). I like Hennessy and read a lot of books.

What/Who Are Your Main Inspirations For Making Music?

Lots of stuff. Early metal, original Memphis sounds, Crash Bandicoot levels, shit like that.

Who Are Some Producers That You Work With?

I produce all my stuff, but recently I linked with LOCVST. There’s a few others here and there.

Are You Affiliated With Any Artists Or Crews?

Just the ones I’ve been working with these last few albums.

Who Are Some Artists You Wish To Work With In The Future?

Not off top. I want to continue with the folk I’ve been linking with.

Who Is God Blessin’?

Not me, I bless myself.

How Did You Get Involved With JGRXXN & Schemaposse?

JGRXXN did a call for artists to expand the movement, I DMed him with my tracks, we chopped it up and he blessed me with the spot. He put me on.

You Are Also In Hardcore Bands, Seven Serpents & Nemesis. Can You Tell Us A Little About Those Bands And How You Incorporate Being In Those Bands Into Your Solo Music?

Nemesis is for when you wanna rob a jewelry store, Seven Serpents is for when you get home from the robbery and get high as hell staring at the ceiling in your room for hours.

When Can We Expect Your Next Project To Drop?

When I feel like y’all need that shit enough.

Anything Else?

Shouts out SCHEMAPOSSE and JGRXXN, shouts out all the people internationally and in the US that stay ordering merch and downloading my shit. Stay up.
